Learning to play any of the Bakugan games is pretty simple even for an adult!

The Bakugan card games take a few minuets of reading to understand the concepts and the rules. After that it's playtime! You may have heard about the hit anime cartoon Bakugan. It is on the cartoon network in the US and on cartoon channels in other countries as well.

This is also a collectible toy and a game, which combines strategy, skill, and collecting. Plus, as an added bonus when you play bakugan the bakugan themselves are played for keeps, just like the old fashioned marbles game.

To play Bakugan you need to choose 3 ability cards and 3 gate cards then you roll your characters onto the cards. The cards have different points and powers which correspond to the different creatures you roll.

This is where the strategy comes in, and the game can actually get quite complicated, with the different characters and powers and bonuses and exceptions. But, I'm hoping to give you a simple strategy overview today.

The creatures themselves are little spheres but when you roll them onto a card, a metal strip in the card activates a magnet in the sphere and it opens up into a creature. When two creatures are on the same card they have a battle according to the points on the card and the ability card you play.

Before you play you need to choose 3 ability cards.

The cards are either blue, green, or red, and you choose one of each. The blue card gives Gpower bonuses to the Bakugan based on their attributes. So choose your blue card according to the battle brawlers you have chosen.

The green cards give power to a certain attribute. If all of your characters are of the same attribute then choose the green which will power them. There are also some special green cards which can make your opponent do things so study his selection of brawlers as well.

The red cards have different abilities according to specific situations. You can usually find one useful in most games. But if wouldn't hurt to study the situations and the characters being played and form a strategy for each game.

Next you choose 3 gate cards. You choose one from each color. The colors are silver, gold, and copper. Each gate card has an attribute bonus and a special ability. When choosing a silver card some don't have abilities so try to choose one with the highest bonus possible.

The gold cards usually allow the matching Bakugan to get an attribute bonus so try to choose these cards to match your character.

The copper cards have the ability to completely change the outcome of the game. These cards are the most advanced and require the most strategy when playing.

This is just a very basic overview of some of the strategy that will come into play when choosing your cards and characters for the Bakugan game.

The more you play and learn all of the powers of the cards and characters the more advanced your playing will become. But, for now, this should be enough to get you started.
